PARTS AND PARCEL

+++ Rivals offer Powdrill the full package +++

It’s a rare occurrence, but this publication is nevertheless saddened when a ‘Mo decides it might be time to bid our Dyna-massive family goodbye – so we were intrigued to discover that GUY ‘THE ENGINE’ POWDRILL appears to be considering jumping ship thanks to the lure of free servicing and cheap parts. Flighty Guysie, who joined Rapha/Condor for all of 48 hours in 2006, has diplomatically declined to name either of the two teams which have tapped him up this time around, and DYNAMITE! commends his admirably discretion. Thankfully, your favourite Dynamatic update doesn’t have quite the same scruples, which is why we are at liberty to reveal that when challenged, the big fella did not deny that one of the would-be poachers was A Certain Hampton Wick Retailer. He may never be in want for a Dura-Ace component again! To be fair, the Dyna-motor man is just one of a small group of top-level Dynamates who have attracted the attention of other teams, and it’s possible that their directeurs sportifs will soon be studying the results of tomorrow’s end-of-season slog-a-thon before deciding who will be the next ones to get the carrot dangled in front of them, so come with us now as we remind you of the very first Dynamo competition of its kind. It’s all uphill from here…

SHEER HILL

+++ Hayter’s tough challenge +++

The inaugural London Dynamo hill climb champs are almost upon us, Dynamates! With a number of EOL spaces up for grabs, there should be more than 30 riders gathered on Leith Hill at 10am tomorrow to tackle the eight per cent average gradient, and event organiser WILL ‘SEE YA’ HAYTER is going to have the scales ready to categorise each competitor by weight. So leave your excuses at home and make sure you’ve packed your lead-lined underpants! Map-challenged ‘Mos can take advantage of the unofficial group ride out to the start, which leaves from the normal Parkride meeting place of the roundabout by Sheen Gate at 8am, lead by human sat-nav MARTIN ‘PIN-UP’ WILLIAMSON. And when you get back home, remember to book your place at the Dynamo end-of-year bash in Mayfair on Thursday 4th December so you can talk up your undoubtedly legendary performance. More details are on the forum… http://tinyurl.com/5fbwd7. We’ll see you there!

SOLEMN PROMISE

Your ever-loyal DYNAMITE! vows to refuse any offers from rival publications in the unlikely situation that any may arise, which means that we are guaranteed to be back next week. Always remember we are a faithful servant, and we would be nothing without your masterful input. So please keep Dyna-mailing your race reports, news and gossip to dynamite@londondynamo.co.uk. The deadline, as ever, is Wednesday afternoon for Friday’s edition. And now, as we wonder if you can ever be “tapped down”, it only remains for us to remind you about…
