DON’T DRINK AND TYPE
+++ Editorial team take the sensible option +++
Putting together Britain’s finest Dynamatic update is a meticulous process in which literally several puns are lovingly crafted by hand before they are carefully welded to the brilliant results chugging out of the DYNAMITE! ticker tape machine – which is why, contrary to what was suggested in last week’s edition, the conscientious editorial team has decided not to construct this entire issue while blotto. That’s not to say we won’t be propping up the bar at the Freemasons on Wandsworth Common Northside – but as WILL ‘SEE YA’ HAYTER’s inaugural Dyna-monthly drinks evening coincides with this publication’s deadline night, we’ve decided to construct this issue ahead of time so it’s not riddled with drink-induced errors. And as speed is of the essence, this week’s edition will be more of a crit than the usual stage race – so come with us now as we take a whiz through the week…

SLEW ARE YA?
+++ MoD newcomer denied Dyna-moment of glory +++
A Dyna-minnow who gets a top five place this early in the season may think they are on their way to making their name known among the ranks of the Dyna-many – so SIMON ‘GARBLED’ GRANSHAW must have been miffed when he appeared as “Grarslew” in the results for Sunday’s 4th cat race in the final Beginners’ Series event. And he’s not listed as a Dynamo either! Pausing only to accurately describe this publication as a “great newsletter”, Simon tells us he came 3rd, not 4th as listed, although teammate MILES ‘AHEAD’ STUART may have a thing or two to say about that as he currently occupies the No.3 spot on the official finishing sheet. The stomach-churning mass stampede for the line at the Chertsey MoD circuit also reaped a second top 10 place in as many weeks for 8th-placed ROBERT ‘LICENCED’ REID, while the super-fast E/1/2/3 handicap later that day saw none other than tail-ender PAUL ‘MONTY’ DELAHUNTY do a convincing impersonation of a dying man in the last five laps before making a magical, McEwen-esque appearance in 3rd place as he crossed the line. That’s the kind of form you get racing with some of New Zealand’s finest in the Trust House Classic stage race while the northern hemisphere languishes in its off-season!

PODIUM GIRL
+++ Anderson’s top three double +++
Earlier, in the women’s race, newbie NAOMI ‘JUDGE’ ANDERSON followed up last week’s podium place by taking 3rd ahead of 8th-placed Cyclefitter KIMBERLY ‘CANUCK’ KABATOFF, while time trialing marvel JENNY ‘J-LLOYD’ JONES rued her initial tactic of trying to escape into a headwind as she crossed the line in 10th place… http://tinyurl.com/2emhyf. The previous day saw JLJ reap best lady and the prime in the a3crg Hard Riders 10-mile TT with a time of 27:04, and she reports that her ever-competitive fella RICHARD ‘WIN ‘EM’ SIMMONDS was unsatisfied with 4th place after covering the hilly, windswept course in Rake, West Sussex, in 23:45… http://tinyurl.com/3y3z86. That guy’s never happy unless he’s living up to his Dyna-moniker!

LAST ORDERS
We’ve put on the Rapha softshell and given Mrs Dynamite a peck on the cheek, which means there’s just enough time to thank everyone who sent stuff in for this issue before we pedal off to meet WILL ‘SEE YA’ HAYTER and the gang for a drink or three. Always remember we are a friendly pub, but we would be nothing without you, our select clientele. So please keep Dyna-mailing your race reports, news and gossip to dynamite@londondynamo.co.uk, or simply hit your reply button. The deadline, as ever, is Wednesday afternoon for Friday’s edition. And now, as a G and T is presented to us, it only remains for us to remind you about…
